Carpet Stains
In high school we had a class about business. In this class we were talking about how businesses make money, and how there are a lot of things that the average consumer doesn’t know about technology and how things are made. My teacher started talking about carpet stains. She started talking about how hard it was to remove some carpet stains, how they happen, and what it means to the carpet business. I couldn’t understand how this was a secret. Everyone knows that when you have a stained carpet you eventually want to buy a new one to replace it.
My confusion was cleared up rather quickly when she started talking about why it is so easy to get carpet stains. Things happen all the time and there are just some stains that won’t come out. Carpets also wear out and need to be replaced. Then she went on to say that there are indeed carpets developed that will not wear and you will never find carpet stains on them. They are perfect, yet you will never see them in a store for purchase. Perhaps they are being used somewhere right now, but if they are no one would tell you what they are.
Then I began to understand what she was talking about. If there is a carpet that will never wear out, and is resistant to all carpet stains, most people would only have to buy carpeting once. Granted, there are many who will redecorate and want to buy a new shade or color, but they won’t need to replace it due to carpet stains. It made sense to me that they would never release this carpet to the general public because it would be a huge financial blow to the carpet industry. It made sense.
Though I’m not sure there is such a carpet out there, I wouldn’t doubt it. There are so many amazing things in this world, the notion that there is a rug that well resist all wear and carpet stains. It seems reasonable enough right? However, we may indeed never see it, so we may have to continue to deal with carpet stains and trying to avoid them. Remember to wipe them up quickly and get to it as soon as possible before it has a chance to set in. That will have to do unless they decide to let us have the carpet that will never have to be replaced.
